A Very Rare Korean Seated AmithaBuddha Hanging Scroll Painting.
Korea, late Joseon dynasty, late 19th – early 20th century.
A quite large seated cross-legged in dhyanasana on a lotus flower Amitha Buddha figure painted in mineral pigments, his left hand placed his lap with the palm up, his right holding a small swastika symbol with thumb and index fingers, rendered against a round radiating multi-bordered aureole and a green halo around his head, two red rectangular cartouches painted to bottom edge.
It’s in very fine condition with hand scroll mounting with silk-mounting lately.
It measures 35 3/8” x 41 ½” (90cm x 105.5cm
