A Very Fine/Quite Large Korean Copper-Red Hae-Tae Shape Water Dropper-19th :
Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. with a Christie’s label, March 26, 91.
Modelled in the form of a large hae-tae (shishi-mythical sea lion) with high relief
carved curling tail and hairs with decorated in copper-red on the tail and its back hairs in
cluding eyes, its open jaw forming the spout, applied with blue tinged white glaze overall
but its base unglazed.
It’s in very fine condition but a firing crack and small areas unglazed near a chin,
it measures 12.5cm long and 10.5cm high
