A Very Finely Carved Figure of Sage by Kogyoku: Japan, 19th Century, Signed. This is a creamy, oily bright white superb quality of solid ivory carved in details of sage with symbols wealthy, longevity, wisdom, happiness of holding double guards, turtle near feet, aged long and open curved cane and smile-dignity face. His wardrobe on back and folded cloth hat are carved in so exquisite details on it, it is signed on base. It is in perfect condition with a flawlessness of the ivory body. It measures 7 1/2” x 3’ x 2 1/4”
