An Extremely Rare Blue and White Porcelain Spoon

An Extremely Rare Blue and White Porcelain Spoon: Korea, Choson Dynasty, 19th Century As a Korean blue and white porcelain spoon from the Choson dynasty, it is an extremely rare spoon that existed in this era, especially out of Korea. This is an ordinary shape of a porcelain spoon, but this is rare with delicately potted and well painted in an under glaze blue and fine clear white glaze, except for the bottom. It us painted with a lotus spray and it has a recessed handle with flower heads and the reverse with stylized birds. It has a firing support mark on the back. It is in very fine condition except a tiny chip on the end. Measures 6 1/2” Long x 1 3/4” Diameter. *** An almost identical blue and white porcelain spoon only published from the collection of Museum in United States, “The Korean Relics in the United States.” Fog Museum, Harvard University, page 162, Pl. 8, this one has been known only out side of Korea.
