A Rare and Well Crafted Wood Ink Stone Box and Cover: Korea, Choson Dynasty, 19th Century. This is a very fine ink stone box made with persimmon wood with a typical its natural black wood grains matched on the 4 sides and tops, and very well craftsmanship. It is in very fine condition without any typical damages. Measures: 42.7cm x 27.7cm x 27.3cm h. (16 3/4” x 10 7/8” x 10 3/4” h. **** For a very similar ink stone box see Robert J. Moes, Korean Art from the Brooklyn Museum Collection, - New York Universe Book, 1987, #85, and another identical one sold at Christie’s, New York, Korean Art from Robert Moore Collection, 28 March 2006, #514.
