A Very Rare and Fine Gilt Bronze Figure of Buddha
A Rare and Fine Gilt Bronze Figure of Buddha: Korea, Silla –early Unified Silla period, 6th- 10th Century, It is rare as an Unified Silla guilt bronze figurine. Standing on a stepped, opened lotus petal base with arms outstretched with hands holding medicine bottle on the right hand and kundika bottle on the left hand, draped in loose robes etched with pleats and knotted sash, the face cast with downcast eyes below arched brows and surmounted by an usnisa, the reverse of the figure and interior of the base hollow. Its back lower pedestal stand cracked and bent, otherwise it is in fine condition without any major damage except some body gilding losses and rubbed associated with an old age (Over 1100 years old). It measures 11 cm..
