Very Rare/Fine Gilt Bronze Standing Buddha Figure
A Rare/Fine Gilt Bronze Standing Buddha Figure: Korea, Unified Silla Dynasty, 7th-9th Century, This bronze Buddha figure is a most example of Buddha figures from Unified Silla Period. The serene-face below the large unisa, the backs of the head standing with hands held in vara and abhayamudra, dressed in loose robes falling in regular folds from the shoulders and opening to reveal the bare chest, the back cast totally open, Unfortunetely, its gilding was washed off (deteriorated due to aging), but some gilding( gold is in copper color) still remains on the lower body. It is in fine condition but a hair line crack near the neck. Meassures;14.7cm (5 3/4”)h.
