| An Extremely Rare Bamboo Tea Caddy/Incised Poems and a man in Dancing : Korea, 18th – early 19th Century This is an extremely rare as a Korean tea caddy, container, incised both sides with poems, caver’s and maker’s name with seal and a dancing boy with a Korean traditional dance and its outfits in 18th or 19th century. Specialy the dancing boy often were depicted by Danwon, Kim Hong-do (1745 - ? ) or Haewon, Shin Yeon-bok (1758 -?)’s Korean traditional paintings in late 18th century. It’s an oval or half moon shape of tea caddy with bamboo and wood on the its top and bottom, and also its opener is a half moon shape. It has been turned to dark redish brown patina., it had a red lacquer over black lacqer all over the surfaces, but now only small traces spot on the bamboo but red and black lacquers seen on the top and botton because of its aged use. It’s in very fine condition except between the bamboos is slight separated. It measures 14.7cm x 9.2cm x 7cm. | ||
