| An Extremely Fine/Rare Pair of Papered Wood Chests: Korea, Choson Dynasty, 19th Century This is an extremely rare and pair of decorated with 3 characters “ Double Happiness” on the two open doors and under the “C” shaped front handle on the oiled paper over wood chests, rectangular chest resting on two roll-up carved feet in the front, twp doors openting to the inner storage compartment, covered extra thick oiled paper around the edges and door edges. And this chest covered paper turns into a beatiful natural golden yellowish color related with old use, yellow brass knobs and hinges covered with old patina, and it has appeared a beautiful contrast between its edge paper and its surface paper. It’s in almost perpect condition without any noticeable damages. Each chest measures 32 1/4” L.x 12 3/4” W. x 22 1/4” H. | ||
