Noshime kimono was the formal kimono worn under kamishimo by samurai in Edo period, or by Noh drama and kyogen performer under suo or mizugoromo these days. Asa (hemp) boy's festive kimono whose wefts and warps are hand-plied. It has free-hand painted (Yuzen-zome) turtle and bamboo design in the waist part. This kind of kimono is called "noshime" which has design in the waist part. Noshime kimono was the formal kimono worn under kamishimo by samurai in Edo period, or by Noh drama and kyogen performer under suo or mizugoromo these days. It has silk thread "se-mamori", a charm unusually inside of the upper back. Se-mamori is seen in Kansai area...

Jingasa worn by a worrior. It is handwoven of Japanese paper yarn which is made from kozo tree fiber and coated with urushi, lacquer.
