Genuine museum piece which was worn by a palanquin bearer (kagokaki) for a lord or high ranking samurai in late Edo era (19th C). This kimono was prepared by a lord as a uniform. Homespun, hand woven very thick cotton dyed with natural indigo. Stencil resist dyed in both sleeves. In excellent condition. 140cm x 154cm 4.6f x 5.1ft
