Cotton futonji with tsutsugaki design of cha-dogu (tea utensils) for Sencha . Sencha is Chinese style tea and non-powdered green tea. It is hand-spun cotton and dyed with natural indigo. The utensils are: a tea bowl, a tea caddy, a leaf-tea jar, a kettle, a a bamboo whisk, a tea pot, chopsticks for charcoals, a feather fire-making fan, a set of earthen pot and furace, tea saucers, a basket for tea set and so on. Bamboo basket with silk brocade cloth. It has the sign "Kochiku-sai" in the bottom, who was a bamboo craftsman in Kyoto. The name has been succeeded for a 100 years, but which generation is not clear. It has cotton lining. In excellent condition except for a minor cut in the corner. Miyako-jufu man's kimono hand-woven of choma (ramie) and dyed with Ryukyu-ai. The wefts and the warps are hand plied. Miyako-jofu has been woven in Miyako Island in Okinawa since 14th century. It was called "Satsuma-jofu" in Edo period as the island belonged to Satsuma feudal domain. It was imposed as tax. It is time-consuming process of thread making, thread plying, weaving as matching the wefts and warps kasuri patterns. It is pounded with mallet to make it shiny after the cloth is woven...

Shima-cho, a sample book of Tanbafu with 50 fragments. Tanbafu is handwoven of hand-spun cotton and pongee silk threads which are both vegetable dyed. It was called Saji momen before and named Tanbafu later. It was mainly used for kimono and futonji. It had been woven in Tanba region in Hyogo prefecture since early 19th century, however it was once disappeared but Uemura Rokuro, weavers and other people successfully restored the textile in early 20 C...

Fireman's hood with beautiful machine sewn sashiko, quilting. The quilting is sewn with white and orange threads. Outside is made of indigo dyed cotton cloth and lining is thin cotton with stripes. Carpenter's "sumi-tsubo ( ink liner )" made of wood and has an ink pot and a wheel. It is used by a carpenter when he draws a line on a lumber.
