This is a large bamboo basket made by Chikuyosai ( Morita ) whose birth date is unknown, but born in Kyoto and actively made bamboo baskets between Taisho and Showa period ( ca. 1920s to 1940s ). It is freely and boldly woven with wide bamboo strips. In good condition except for a few cuts and rifts ( not serious for use ). Height with a handle:39cm Height without a handle:23cm Diameter:36cm

This is a box for fish which is hand-made of bamboo and wood and called "sakana kago" ( From Nihon-no-dogu, published by Yomiuri Shinbunsha in 1976 ). This kind of bamboo box was made in Kyushu district. In good condition except for some rift in the two corners. 20th century. W:25cm L:42.5cm H:11cm
