Katakuchi bowl is originally made for pouring sake or other liquid from a spout made in one side. This one is a nice variation of katakuchi by Sakakura Shinbei 14th (born in 1926). Hagi ware is produced in Hagi in Yamaguchi prefecture. In excellent condition with a signed box. Originally there were set of ten, however five now. Mid Showa era (ca. 1950s~1960s). Very original plates made of three color clay. Waso Hideatsu (1948~) is a potter born and working in Kyoto. In excellent condition with a signed box. Mid Showa era (1960s~1980s). Diameter 13.5cm 5.3" Height 1.8cm 0.7"

Fukuro obi with contemporary wave crest pattern (sei-gai-ha). The same pattern in both sides but the 40% of the pattern of each side is left colorless, only beige with wave crest pattern. In good condition except for patinas on both ends and one of gold threads is loose. Early Showa (ca. 1930s). 32.5cm x 406cm 12.8"x13.3ft

Beautiful vertical lo (striped gauze) kimono with pretty flowers on the printed small shibori (tie-dyeing) pattern ground. The striped gauze kimono is fewer than the weft gauze one. The technique is stencil-resist dyeing. In excellent condition. Early Showa era (ca. 1930s). 124cm x 142cm 48.8"x55.9"

Small fukusa with good hand-painting of an old man and plum tree motif on plain silk. It has small light stains but in good condition as a whole. Taisho or Showa era (1920s~1930s). 35cm x 35cm 13.8"x13.8"

This is a gorgeous bizen flower vase (hana-ire) made by Matsushima Hiroshi ( 1960~ ) who won a prize of Japan Art Crafts Association and many prizes also. This hana-ire has beautiful yo-hen ( discoloration of ceramic ware ). Bizen ware has a history of one thousand years and its feature is that it is burnt long time without glaze with high-heat, so that it causes natural and attractive discoloration in a kiln. In excellent condition with an original signed wooden box...
