This is a chu-ya obi ( sash ). "Chu-ya" means "day and night" and chu-ya obi is a sash which has two different designs and textiles in both sides. It has beautiful embroidery of wisteria and cherry blossom motifs on beige satin ground and bright color katazome ( stencil-dyeing ) flowers on thick silk crepe ground. It has light patina and a few stains on beige ground side, however the silk crepe side is in excellent condition. Early to mid 20th century. 32.5cm x 4m

This is a beautiful obi ( sash ) woven of silk threads in many colors which make amazing stripes. It is plain weaving and has rather thin texture and no lining. It has some bluish blurs in the white part, however in good condition as a whole considering it is vintage and used one. Early to mid 20th century. 28cm x 3m88cm 11" x 12ft9"

This is a sakiori sodenashi ( sleeveless ) coat. Sakiori is a textile woven of shreds for wefts which are torn from old kimono, furoshiki, futon cover and so on. This sodenashi is made of natural indigo dyed cotton shreds and asa ( hemp ) threads for wefts and hemp threads for warps. It also has hemp stitches for strength around the neck and under the both arm holes. In excellent condition and looks scarcely worn. Early 20th century. 63cm x 103cm 24.8" x 40.5"

This is a noragi ( farm wear ) made of cotton cloth with shibori and cotton jacquard. The beautiful shibori cloth was produced in Asamai region in Akita prefecture in Tohoku district. Asamai region has been one of the producing places of shibori cloth since mid 19th century.
