| This is a beautiful warp and weft kasuri kimono which is made of hand-plied and hand-woven asa ( hemp ). It is called "akaso kasuri". The kasuri pattern is dyed with board-clamped and the brown color is vegetable dye. It was produced in Yamato region ( Nara prefecture now ). In excellent condition except for some stains in the white lining in the upper back. 19th century. 101cm x 104cm | |||||||||||||||
