| This is a set of Oribe-yaki "mukozuke" which is one kind of dish for food besides rice or soup. Oribe-yaki is one of the Japanese artistic potteries which was first made by Furuta Oribe ( 1543~1615 ) who was a samurai as well as a tea master. It has been produced in Gifu prefecture in the middle of Japan. The features of Oribe-yaki are green glaze and free-hand iron drawing. These mukozuke were made by Yamaguchi Jotetsu ( 1895~1953 ) and named "Fundo" which means the weight of the balance. Early to mid 20th century.
