This is a furoshiki ( wrapping cloth ) made of hand-spun cotton and dyed with natural indigo. It has noshi design drawn with tsutsugaki technique which is free-hand paste-resist dyeing using a cone-shaped tool. Noshi is an ornament put on a gift, which was made of abalone strips bound together in old days, but paper one is replaced these days. It has some holes and mending patches. The latter half of the 19th century. 99cm x 126cm
