This is a kanmuri, a crown which used to be worn by the court nobles since Heian period ( ca. the end of 8th to the early 11th century ), but it is worn in the ceremonies these days. It is made of silk cloth and thick paper coated with urushi. In good condition but the long belt ( ei ) hangs behind is lost. Probably made in 20th century, however the technique and the material follows the traditional one. 15.7cm x 20.8cm, H:20.5cm
