Japanese Antique Textile Cotton Textile Ase-hajiki

This is an "ase-hajiki" made of hand-spun soft cotton which was worn under kimono or hanten as a sweat-absorbent in summer, mainly in Tohoku district. The warps are twined (mojiri-ori in Japanese). In good condition except for blackish stains near neck inside. The latter half of the 19th century. 50cm x 67cm
