Japanese Antique Textile Han-juban Board-clamped

This is a han-juban ( short under kimono ) made of hand-spun cotton and has itajime ( board-clamped ) pattern. Itajime shibori had been practiced in Kyoto from late Edo period ( the former half of the 19th century ) to early Showa period ( 1920s ), so it is called Kyo-Itajime. However, it has mostly diminished these days. This han-juban has a cotton lining and floss silk for warmth. The both sleeves are made of silk crepe. In good condition except for the dirt in the white cotton collar. The latter half of the 19th century. 121cm x 58cm
