Japanese Antique Textile Asa Suo With Katazome

This is a set of suo and hakama which are worn on a stage (kyogen). Suo is a wide-sleeved overgarment worn by samurai. They are made of hemp and warps are hand-plied. They have katazome ( stencil-dyeing ) Mukai-zuru ( a pair of cranes face-to-face ) pattern. 19th century. In good condition but has many moth holes in the suō and hakama. Late 19th to early 20th century. Suo W:151cm L:81cm Hakama W:56cm L:89cm
