Japanese Antique Textile Asa Suo and Hakama

This is a set of suo and hakama which are worn on a stage (kyogen). Suo (top) is a wide-sleeved overgarment which was worn by samurai. They are made of hemp and both warps and wefts are hand-plied. The suo has laces in front and ornaments in the crests made of deerskin. Generally in good condition but has some stains. 19th century. Suō:184cm x 84cm Hakama:L 83cm
