This is a wallet made of silk velvet outside and cotton Japanese sarasa (stencil-dyeing print called wa-sarasa)inside. It has a beautiful brass clasp with tea ceremonial motifs, a charcoal basket and a tea bowl. The silk velvet may be made in late Edo but the cotton sarasa was made later. The latter half of the 19th century. Generally in good condition except for the wear in the velvet parts and some of clasps are lost. 8.3cm x 12cm (when it is folded)
