Japanese Mingei Urushi Juice Collector's Container

Wooden container used by a urushi juice collector when he took urushi juice from the urush tree which was carved on the trunk. Urushi trees mainly grow in Iwate, Ibaraki and Tochigi prefecture. It has urushi inside and outside and has asa (hemp) cords. Probably 20th century. Diameter:12cm Height:18cm
