Katazome (stencil-dyeing) woman's kimono with lining. The katazome technique looks following the Bingata technique which was originated in Okinawa (Ryukyu Archipelago) in 14th century. Different from the common katazome in which coloring applied on the paper stencil, the resit-paste is applied for the design and then colored for Bingata. Darker color is added and it makes Bingata very attractive. This kimono is made of thick silk crepe and has thin silk lining. Generally in good condition but has some color faded parts and dirt in the collar. 20th century. 126cm x 153cm
