Katsugi or kazuki which is a kimono shaped head veil worn by woman when she went out. It is made of thin silk gauze and has Matsu-kawa-bishi (pine barks) and peony design which is stencil-dyeing. Dyed with natural indigo and the lining in the top part is dyed with benibana (safflower). In good condition except for several moth holes in the back. Late Edo period (19th century). 123cm x 154cm
