Cotton futonji with treasures motif painted with tsutsugaki technique. It is dyeing technique which is freehand painting using cone-shaped tool filled with rice-paste as resist. The treasures are: treasure balls, scrolls, a mallet, a hat, a cape, a key of a store house and a treasure bag etc. which are all auspicious items. It is thin but hand-spun cotton and dyed with natural brown and pigment colors added. Generally in good condition but has some stains and pigment colors faded. Late 19th to early 20th century. 120cm x 154cm
