Hanko-tanna which was rolled around a woman's face leaving part of eyes open when she worked in the field. It protected her from sunbeam, insects or the cold. It was used in Akita and Yamagata prefecture. It is made of cotton and has shibori pattern and dyed with natural indigo. In good condition except for one rip in the hem. The first half of the 20th century. 34cm x 180cm
