Girl's han-juban (short under kimono) made of hand-spun cotton with beni-itajime shibori asanoha patten, which is one kind of board-clamped dyeing with benibana (safflower). Benibana was very precious in old days and it was mainly grown in Shonai region in Yamagata prefecture. The last photo shows the process of beni-itajime in old days (Reference source: Yomigaeru Maboroshino Senshoku, published by Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo). Late 19th to mid 20th century. In good condition. 81cm 44cm
