Japanese Antique Textile Silk Patched Komebukuro
This is a komebukuro ( rice bag ) which is made of several kinds of silk cloth such as plain silk crepe, silk crepe with katazome ( stencil-dyeing ), silk figured satin, silk brocade and so on. Komebukuro was used when people exchange rice as a gift or donated it to a shrine or a temple. One of the cloth in the bottom is damaged and it has a few moth holes. Meiji period ( 1868~1912 ). 50cm x 33cm 19.7" x 13.0"
