This is a komebukuro ( rice bag ) which is made of plain silk crepe, silk crepe with katazome ( stencil-dyeing ) and Yuzen zome ( paste-resist ). Komebukuro was used when people exchanged rice as a gift or donated it to a shrine or a temple. It has a beautiful silk cord with tassels. In good condition except for a small moth holes. Meiji period ( 1868~1912 ) 38cm x 30cm 15.0" x 11.8"
