This is a fabulous Tussie Mussie (posey holder) made in Paris, circa late 19th century. This rare floral centerpiece has a gilt metal base which holds six mini glass vases, surrounding one taller vase. The vases have elegant fluted tops. The traditional tussie mussie is composed of fragrant herbs surrounding one central flower, a rose. This piece measures 9 1/2" tall by 8 1/2" in diameter, and weighs 2 pounds.
