Exceptional Meissen porcelain nodding pagoda, circa early to mid 19th century. The figure is that of a seated male Oriental figure adorned in elaborate floral attire. The figure features many moving parts, including hands, tongue, and head, which all pivot on weights located inside the figure. This particular nodder features porcelain weights attached to the head, something only seen in the older Meissen pieces. The blue crossed-swords mark can be found in several places on the figure. There is one mark on the base, one on each porcelain weight, and one inside the neck(see photos). This piece is in excellent condition, no damage at all. It measures 7 1/2" X 5 1/2" X 8" tall.
