Tucano Indian "Great Signal Drum"

Trocano. This is an actual three chambered Trocano, or Great Signal (telegraph) Drum. Similar to one on display in The Peabody Museum of Harvard University that was Donated by the renowned Amazon explorer Dr. A. H. Rice. Acquired from a collector in Brazil in mid 1980s. It originated from a Tucano Indian Village where it was made around 1935 to 1945. It was published in a Brazilian newspaper with picture of the original collector. There is an almost identical example in the Indian Museum in Manaus, Brazil. Slight check cracks have been repaired so as to maintain original deep sound. Private East Coast collection. Shipping costs by buyer.
