Moche Diseased Noble Man. Probably suffering from leishmenaisis. Ca. 500 to 800 A.D. To present owner by descent pre 1970. 8.75in/22.2cm tall by 5.5in/14cm wide. Flared open top crown with black vertical lines. Headband tied beneath chin. Cream detail overall on brown with black geometric facial tattoo or hair. Nose and mouth show evidence of the disease leishmenaisis. Ceramic decorated stirruped bottle in high relief hanging on sash/bundle behind left shoulder. Holding what may be a decorated bottle in left hand and object in right hand. Decorative spangled plate hanging from neck band. Some restoration, probe impact mark near left foot. Appears to have extra digit on each hand (assuming thumb carrying objects are opposing). Condition very good.
