Votive Plaque or plate. Possibly Chiribaya (South Coast of Peru). Late Intermediate Period. AD 1200-1300. 12.5 inches/31.7 cm by 12in/30cm. Concave. With painted primitive appearing zoomorphic, anthropomorphic and geometric symbols. Symbols and caricatures of various colors including black, white, green orange and red. Some paint loss otherwise of excellent condition. OSL dated/associated to approximately 1300 AD. Acquired by descent prior to 1967.
