Very large Chinese cloisonne and bronze brazier. Standing on a cloisonne base and 3 feet shaped as tao teih masks, the brazier's 24" height is perfect for distributing heat. It is unusual to find a Japanese Ainu bear cub in this sitting position. Hand carved using traditional tools (More recent bears are carved using machine tools), it is made with one piece of wood. Signed and dated 1971, this charming cub is in excellent condition and measures 14" high. Please note the excellent detailing in the cub's fur.
