A remarkable yellow gold Remembrance brooch. Most incredible is the treatment of the blond hair underneath the crystal. The hair was carefully positioned to look like three feather plume bouquet with a band consisting of 3 seed pearls and gold thread at its base. The gold thread, which might be twisted gold wire, is also used throughout the “bouquet”. The brooch is 14K gold, unmarked but acid tested. The front of the brooch has an open scroll design high relief border with some hand engraving. Engraved in script on the backside is the name “Younger”. A few small pieces of the gold thread/wire on the hair bouquet appear to have broken off. Not noticeable to the naked eye, but can be seen in our enlarged photo. Considered to be in excellent antique condition, the brooch measures 2 inches by 1.5”. This is a rare find even for the avid collector.
