We have seen a lot of Chinese export through the years, and this is by far one of the finest most elaborately gold gilded Kangxi (1662-1722) tea sets ever to pass through our hands. The porcelain quality is highly translucent which reflects the very pinnacle of Chinese porcelain production. This partial set is extremely rare in the condition seen here, as there is virtually no wear to the enamels on the teapot and creamer, and there is little rubbing and wear to the enamels on the spoon rest and condiment tray. The saucers are in excellent condition and exhibit very little wear. This is one of the loveliest partial tea sets I have ever encountered, and the lucky buyer will not be disappointed, please study photos carefully. Measurements and Notes: Teapot measures 5.5” high, excellent condition. Creamer measures 5.5” high, excellent condition, inside lid is small chip/flake or manufacturing flake. Saucers measure 4.5” diameter, excellent condition. Condiment Tray measures 6.75” square, Spoon Rest measures 6.5” x 4.5”. The condiment tray and spoon rest have the normal production manufacturing faults around the edges. Separate from these is a minute chip on the spoon rest dish. Both pieces are considered in excellent condition with no hairlines or cracks. |
