| An intricately incised Burmese lacquer betel nut box made of spun bamboo and lacquer. It has ornately caved designs on all of the exterior sides and bottoms. Difficult to photograph is the fine cross-hatching in what may appear in the photos as red band around the top of the lid. Any white spots in the photos are reflections. The colors on all the pieces are the same. The lighting may make some of the inside bowls look lighter, but they are not. The 4 colors used in creating the designs are black (the base color), golden yellow, green, and an orange/red. In excellent museum quality condition, this beautiful box measures 4.5” high x 4.75” diameter and is a very desirable addition to any Asian lacquer collection. 20th Century. | |||||||||
