LANCELOT NEY born 1900 in Budapest Hungary,died Paris France 1965.He attended the Art Academy in Budapest & in 1922 went on trips to Germany where he met with KURT SCHWITTERS & MOHOLY-NAGY. He moved to Paris in 1923 & stayed there till his death in 1965.He associated with artists such as MONDRIAN (through his friend MICHEL SEUPHOR)& the Hungarian born compatriot NICOLAS CZINOBER. NEY held many exhibitions in Paris including at the SALON DES REALITES NOUVELLES. Oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left: LANCELOT NEY '50. Measures 21" X 18" (29 1/2" X 26" with frame). Excellent original condition. |
