| This comical series signed by Bruce Bairnsfather was made as "A Souvenir of the Great War" by Grimwades (early Royal Winton). 'MADE BY THE GIRLS OF STAFFORDSHIRE DURING THE WINTER OF 1917 WHEN THE BOYS WERE IN THE TRENCHES FIGHTING FOR LIBERTY AND CIVILIZATION.' This jug is a massive 7" high and the captions read: 'THE HISTORICAL TOUCH', "WELL ALFRED 'OW ARE THE CAKES?", and "KEEPING HIS HAND IN". (While juggling hand grenades). Unusual border around the top. Great condition with small hairlines. | |
