Primitive Japanese Tokoname earthenware water jar (Mizusashi) of seed jar (Tanetsubo) type as its origin, Edo period, 19th century or earlier.

Applied to use farmer's storage vessel (seed jar) for tea utensils attaching with a custom-made black-lacquered lid ordered by the former owner during the handed-down years, as a fine example of "Mitate" of the tea ceremonial conception.

Fine antique condition as seen. (and No leaks for a day at least as tested.)
