Subtle and profound 'yakishime' (yakijime) earthenware flask (vase) with simple double-ear, considered to date back to 19th century at least and probably earlier.
Aesthetic scenery of its deep and solid surface texture by the fine chemical reaction in kiln firing ('yohen'), in the refined proportion with lovely slight distortion. Probably a Japan-made for the details, but uncertain about its producing area.
Attached with an old deteriorated woodbox indicated "Takatori ware" by the former owner as the original (or handed-down) condition of which just came to us containing this piece itself, though its wrong matching as considered generally. Fine antique condition with chips at bottom stand, though unharming for its function and its total scenery as well.
21 x 11.5 x 8.6cm (8.26 x 4.52 x 3.38in)
