Early Edo period, early-mid 17th century
D: 4.8-4.3cm (1.88-1.69in), H: 3cm (1.18in)
Naturally-distorted Shoki-Imari ('Early Imari') white porcelain sake cup, accented with a single line of smooth and refined gold lacquer restoration ('kintsugi'). Sensitive thin make and tasteful feeling of "raw and warm" skin of non-biscuit ('namagake') porcelain as the original. In fine antique condition with a small stone burst on inside surface ('ishihaze'). Adequately comfortable practical use.
