Quite a unique and aesthetic gilt and black-lacquered wood carving (as 'yosegi-zukuri') of Amida-Nyorai (Amitabha) image in the demolished condition, dated back to Edo period, ca. 18th century. Considered to be once dedicated a sort of metal 'hoju' (Buddhist sacred jewel) into the face according to the precedent (but rare case) before removing (robbing) it. Re-lacquered for the details in the later years (but in Edo period) by the gracious arrangement of its predecessor, and still remains the original gilt in the mature blackness as its another refinedness.
