| A lovely Chinese box made of a heavy dark wood. The body is carved from one piece, as is the lid which is carved with a recessed lip and is decorated with bone, mother of pearl, and hardstone overlay. The box is in very good condition, though it appears some of the overlays are missing. An inscription is visible on the underside of the lid, carved in bold, well executed chinese characters. Also present is the carved date, "11.11.22" The box was probably crafted around 1900. It measures 12 x 10 x 3.5cm | |||||||
