This adorable Japanese tuchi ningyo(clay doll) is assumed to be from the early part of Meiji, the late 1800s. The doll has an enclosed bottom and shows aged surface (smoked like..possibly it was displayed near kitchen). The boy (doshi or dojo) has a joyful expression, raising his right arm, being side of an auspicious drum. The backside of the doll has no painting as traditional. The lovely pigments of green and orange are still vividly remained...

We brought this beautiful Shino plate from our latest trip to Japan. It originally came out from the Mino region of Japan (contemporary Gifu area). The thick white Shino glaze covers unevenly, which has created an unique surface texture And the iron glaze was used to draw circle-like pattern on the outskirt while a simple pompous grass like motif in the center. Aesthetically aged and very attractive candle stick from the Joseon dynasty of Korea. The piece is made from carved wood and stained in dark color. Made from fine porcelain with dark brown "lip-stick" around the top rim. The beautiful indigo painting was inspired by the earlier Guangdon, China style, a mountain and water scene. The mikomi, the interior bottom mark, is rock and water, 'iwanami.' The bottom/foot style is called "jya-no-me" which mean a snake eye. An elegant appearance. Excellent condition. Ca.
