Aesthetically aged and very attractive candle stick from the Joseon dynasty of Korea. The piece is made from carved wood and stained in dark color. The handle in the back (it looks almost like a tail) is made from steel iron, rusted. From the years of hadling, the surface of the piece subtly shines. The face is almost human like, yet the body possesses lion-like figure and posture. The top of the stick confirms the history of the use, as you see in the image...

We found this lovely Korean bottle, assumed to be for serving liquor, in Kyushu, Japan in our latest trip. We were immediately attracted to the rustically beautiful appearance when we saw the piece. Irregular crackles cover the surface of the bottle to create an earthy texture while the natural ash glaze gently smooth and soften the overall impression. There is a small repair around the "mouth" of the bottle, which you can identify on the image in subtle brown color...
